Saif Ali Khan is gearing up for the release of his upcoming heist thriller, Jewel Thief, a Netflix movie directed by Kookie Gulati and Robbie Grewal. He is also set to collaborate for the first time with Hera Pheri franchise director Priyadarshan. Saif recently confirmed his involvement in the film and revealed that he will be playing the role of a blind man.
Saif Ali Khan in a recent interview talked about his role in Priyadarshan's next directorial, which will be the remake of Mohanlal's movie Oppam. In a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, he confirmed being part of the film by stating, “Yes, I am doing a film with Priyadarshan next. I play a blind guy. Very exciting.” Besides Saif, Bobby Deol is reportedly to play the role of the lead antagonist.
Mohanlal starrer Malayalam-language action thriller film, Oppam, was directed by Priyadarshan. In the 2016 film, the actor played the role of a visually challenged man, who tries to protect a girl from a psycho killer but gets entangled in a murder investigation and emerges as the prime suspect. Saif will be donning the role with new elements to it.
Meanwhile, Priyadarshan is gearing up for the upcoming horror-comedy movie Bhoot Bangla. He is reuniting with Akshay Kumar after 14 years in this project. The film is produced under Ektaa R. Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms Ltd and is slated to release in 2026. The director is also working on Hera Pheri 3 with Bollywood iconic trio Akshay Kumar, Suneil Shetty and Paresh Rawal.
Saif, on the other hand, is busy promoting his movie Jewel Thief, which is set to premiere on Netflix on April 25. The film also stars Jaideep Ahlawat, Nikita Dutta, and Kunal Kapoor, among many others. The actor also has Go Goa Gone 2 in the pipeline, which is the sequel to a 2013 hit action-comedy movie starring Kunal Kemmu and Vir Das.
