Prabhas’ Salaar and Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo are two of the highly-anticipated movies of the year 2023. The early IMDb ratings of 'Salaar' and 'Leo' are finally out. Surprisingly, the duo is fighting for the top spot on IMDb’s most anticipated list. It is pertinent to note that IMDb, the internationally recognised film database and entertainment hub, presents a list or widget highlighting the most anticipated Indian movies and shows. The rankings are determined by the immediate popularity of each title, which is measured by the number of pageviews they accumulate on IMDb. 

IMDb's Highly-Anticipated Movies/Shows 2023

The Prabhas-starrer action thriller film ‘Salaar’, directed by Prashanth Neel, has taken the #1 place on the IMDb list. The main character of the film is a gang boss who engages in combat with other deadly gangs in order to grant his dying friend's final request. The story of 'Salaar' revolves around a gang leader who makes a promise to a dying friend by taking on other criminal gangs.

The second spot has been taken by Thalapathy Vijay’s 'Leo', co-starring Trisha Krishnan as the leading lady. 'Leo' is scheduled to be released in theatres worldwide on 19 October 2023 in standard, IMAX, 4DX, and other premium formats. The third spot has been taken by sci-fi actioner Mark Antony. The film stars Vishal, Ritu Varma in lead roles and Sj Suryah, Sunil Varma in supporting roles. This film is directed by Adhik Ravichandran and produced by S Vinod Kumar.

Apart from these big-budget releases, only a single OTT release has made it to the IMDb top 10 highly-anticipated list. The upcoming web series ‘Bambai Meri Jaan’ will premiere on Prime Video onSeptember 14, 2023. It stars Kay Kay Menon, Avinash Tiwary, Kritika Kamra, Nivedita Bhattacharya and Amyra Dastur in lead roles.
