Salman Khan is currently gearing up for his much-anticipated movie, Battle of Galwan. The movie was originally scheduled to be released on April 17, but to his fans' disappointment, it is currently facing a postponement. According to latest reports, the Battle of Galwan director Apoorva Lakhia is currently editing the reshot parts of the movie, which is causing delay and the movie might miss the pre-set release date. The new date is expected to be 14th August 2026, in celebration of Independence Day.

The war-drama movie Battle of Galwan, which was initially set for an April release, is now reportedly postponed due to a delay in the post-production stage. According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, “Battle of Galwan has indeed been postponed and it will now release on August 14, 2026. Salman Khan and the makers are of the opinion that it would be a better date since India’s Independence Day falls on August 15. The patriotic sentiment will be at an all-time high and the Battle of Galwan would be an ideal flick to watch in this period.”

The report has cited two reasons behind the delay. The makers had to reshoot some scenes and the final shoots of the movie are yet to commence. It will start from February 9, Monday and will go on for a week in the Golden Tobacco Factory in Mumbai. The wrap date is expected to be by the end of February.

Another reason that the report mentioned was that the movie will first need to be shown to the Ministry of Defence, and this process might take up a lot of their time. The report further stated, “Salman Khan is clear that such a special, patriotic film needs to be nurtured well. He has told the team of the film that they should not rush through the process and take their time in ensuring that the final product looks appealing, compelling and cinematic.”

If the reports turn out to be true, then Kartik Aaryan’s Naagzilla and Salman Khan’s Battle of Galwan’s release will fall on the same day. However, no official announcement from the makers of the movie has been made yet.
