Sanjay Dutt's 'Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.' completes 20 years on December 19. It was directed by Rajkumar Hirani and also featured Arshad Warsi, Gracy Singh, and Boman Irani in pivotal roles. Sanjay Dutt celebrated the movie's milestone in an Instagram post and shared a video that evoked nostalgia among its fans. He captioned the post, "Two decades of laughter, emotions, and a whole lot of jadoo ki jhappi! Celebrating 20 years of Munna Bhai MBBS, a journey filled with unforgettable moments. Grateful for the love and support that made this film a timeless classic. Hoping that Munna Bhai 3 will be made soon!"

What caught the fans' attention was the last line of his caption which highlighted Dutt's wish for a third instalment of the film. The movie's second part 'Lage Raho Munna Bhai' was released in 2006 and featured Vidya Balan as a female lead. Fans got excited seeing the post and flooded its comment section with "Waiting" and "Munna Bhai 3 coming soon".

A user on Instagram wrote, "Ye circuit maloom hi nahin pada apni movie ko 20 sal Ho Gaya Re Mamu" (Oh! Circuit, we did not realise that our movie has completed 20 years), mimicking the way Dutt's character (Murli Prasad Sharma) used to speak in the film. Arshad Warsi's character Circuit became famous for its portrayal of a friend who is extremely loyal and devoted. 

Another user wrote, "Classic Movie" highlighting its legacy and the fact that it has a separate fanbase among the medical fraternity for its theme is based on the medical students' lives and how they go through more than five years of rigorous training to be professionals of a field that has the highest responsibility of saving people's lives. As the fans are celebrating more than twenty years of its existence, it is high time the makers gear up to create another movie in the franchise that would live up to the original's standard and be a family entertainer.
