There were rumours of rifts between South superstars Rajinikanth and Sathyaraj for years. Both the stars appeared in the 1986 film Mr Bharath and since then they never worked again. Recently, Sathyaraj broke the ice and claimed that there are no harsh feelings among them. He also stated that he was offered two movies with Rajinikanth but he refused to do them as he was unsatisfied with the roles.

In an interview with Indiaglitz, Sathyaraj said “After I turned a hero (he started his career doing villain roles), I was approached for two Rajinikanth films. The first one was Sivaji and the other was Enthiran. I was approached to play the role of Danny Denzongpa (the evil scientist who ends up corrupting Chitti Robo). I wasn’t satisfied with both roles. Otherwise, what problems do we have?”

Sathyaraj and Rajinikanth are now working together on an upcoming project of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie. The movie will also star Kishore Kumar G, Shobana, and S Sadahasivam. The film is slated to release in theatres in 2025. It will be the 171th film of Rajinikanth.

On the other hand, Sathyaraj will be next seen in the Horror comedy film Munjya. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, the movie also cast talented actors including Mona Singh, Sharvari Wagh and Abhay Verma in significant roles. Apart from Munjya, Sathyaraj is also rumoured to be part of Salman Khan’s Sikander. AR Murugadoss's directorial features Suniel Shetty, Prateik Patil Babbar, Nawab Shah, and Chaitannya Choudhry in key roles.

Rajinikanth will be also seen in the Tamil action drama Vettaiyan. Helmed by TJ Gnanavel, it also stars Dushara Vijayan, Fahadh Faasil, Amitabh Bachchan, Ritika Singh, Manju Warrier, Rana Daggubati, Sharwanand and Rohini Molleti in prominent roles. Produced by Subaskaran Allirajah, the film is scheduled to be released in theatres on 10th October this year.
