Saurabh Shukla, who is known for his popular roles in movies like Jolly LLB, PK, Barfi and Slumdog Millionaire, shared an incident from the sets of Kick. The actor shared that an episode when he was asked to change his reaction after the shot by Salman Khan’s assistant. When he argued that any other reaction wouldn’t make any sense, the suprestar’s assistant pointed out that Salman might not like that kind of reaction in the scene. The veteran actor then shared what Salman Khan did after hearing about this situation. 

In an interview with the Digital Commentary channel, Saurabh said “Salman’s character is meeting me for the first time as my daughter’s boyfriend. Interestingly, the scene is written in such a way that he asks me about my salary, my savings, etc… So when I am asked that question, I reacted in a way that showed the audience that I was stumped and shocked by that question.” 

He continued, “After the scene was shot, one of Salman’s assistants came up to me, and said that I have to change my reaction in that scene. The assistant felt I should act scared in front of Salman’s Devi Lal Singh. While I tried to argue that such a reaction doesn’t make sense, his assistant pointed out that Salman might not like that reaction.”



The veteran actor then shared Salman Khan’s reactions. He added, “Salman called his assistant, and asked him to not disturb me at all. He told him that my acting was on point, and it was the perfect response to the scene.”  Saurabh Shukla, who used this incident as an example of how people in the entourage start making decisions for the star which creates a wrong impression. “Salman liked it… but see how things could have become difficult.” 

Kick was released in theatres in 2014. The movie starred Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Randeep Hooda, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Ranjan Dumra, Sanjay Mishra, Rajit Kapur, Mithun Chakraborty and Saurabh Shukla in key roles. The film was directed by Sajid Nadiadwala.
