Shark Tank India Season 3: In a rare and candid moment on national television, Namita Thapar, the executive director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals and a prominent face on Shark Tank India, bravely discussed her battle with perimenopause, shedding light on a topic seldom discussed openly. During an episode of Shark Tank India, Namita Thapar shared her personal journey with perimenopause, a phase that often goes unnoticed and unaddressed in women's health conversations. She revealed the challenges she faced, including heavy menstrual bleeding that left her unable to sit for long periods. Thapar highlighted the misconception that perimenopause only affects younger women, emphasizing that it is a phase that occurs before menopause, leading to the complete cessation of periods.

Despite having experienced no issues with her periods before, Thapar found herself struggling with perimenopause, a phase marked by significant hormonal changes. She recounted how the heavy bleeding led to severe anaemia, with her haemoglobin levels dropping to 8. To combat this, she required a five-month course of Ferric carboxymaltose injections administered through IV, a 45-minute process that was crucial for her recovery.
