Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra have been accused of cheating a trader in gold scheme. As per the report by NDTV, bullion trader Prithviraj Saremal Kothari moved to the Mumbai Sessions Court demanding action against the couple. As per reports, Prithviraj alleged that the duo planned a scheme under the supervision of their company and they asked traders to invest in it by promising lucrative returns on gold investments. The reports suggest that the scheme was called Satyug Gold. Shilpa and Raj allegedly assured investors of gold delivery at a fixed rate irrespective of market conditions. 

Prithviraj also claimed that he invested Rs 90 lakhs in the scheme and didn’t receive the promised gold even after reaching its maturity date on 2nd April 2019. To support his allegation, the trader also submitted a cover letter signed by Shilpa Shetty and an invoice issued by Satyug Gold Private Limited in court. The court has ordered Mumbai police to investigate the matter. 

Shilpa Shetty has been married to businessman Raj Kundra since 2009. The couple is blessed with two children Viaan and Samisha. On the acting front, Shilpa was last seen in Sonal Joshi’s directorial Sukhee. The story revolves around, a middle-aged housewife who gets the chance to relive the past while attending a school reunion. The movie was released in 2023 and currently streaming on Netflix. It also stars Kusha Kapila, Amit Sadh, Maahi Jain, Chaitanya Choudhry, Dilnaz Irani, Pavleen Gujral, Sejal Gupta, and Jyoti Kapoor in key roles.

She will be next seen in the Kannada movie  KD - The Devi directed by Prem. The movie also stars Reeshma Nanaiah, Dhruva Sarja, Sanjay Dutt, Vijay Sethupathi, Ramesh Aravind, V Ravichandran and Amjad Qureshi in key roles. The movie is scheduled to be released in theatres in December this year.
