The Enforcement Directorate raid on Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra's home in connection with a pornographic case was labelled 'misleading' by her attorney just hours after it first surfaced.
Shilpa Shetty's advocate Prashant Patil denied her connection to the probe during the media interaction. "There have been reports in the media saying that my client Mrs Shilpa Shetty Kundra has been raided by the Enforcement Directorate. These reports are not true and are misleading. As per my instructions, there is no Enforcement Directorate raid on Mrs Shilpa Shetty Kundra as she has nothing to do with any offence of whatsoever nature, " he said.
The lawyer went on to say that the inquiry into Shilpa's husband, Raj Kundra, is still underway and that he has been cooperating with the investigation to uncover the truth. Prashant Patil added, "However, the case in question is an ongoing investigation regarding Mr Raj Kundra and he is cooperating with the investigation for truth to come out."
When discussing the probe, the attorney asked the media to avoid utilizing Shilpa's photos.
According to news agency PTI earlier in the day, the Enforcement Directorate raided the homes of actor Shilpa Shetty's husband, businessman Raj Kundra, and a few other people on Friday in connection with a money laundering case involving the purported distribution of pornographic and adult films, according to official sources.
Around 15 locations in Mumbai and a few cities in Uttar Pradesh are reportedly being examined, including 49-year-old Kundra's home and workplace, among other places, according to the sources. It is believed that Kundra is being questioned by the CIA in one of these locations.
