Shruti Sharma became an overnight sensation for her critically acclaimed performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. The actress, who played the role of Sharmin Segal’s maid ‘Saima’, was in a romantic relationship with Iqbal (Mallikajaan’s driver) portrayed by Rajat Kaul in the web series. Recalling one such intimate scene from the show, she shared her terrible experience in a recent interview. The star claimed that she had rashes on her body and called it harsh.
In a conversation with Entertainment Live, Shruti stated “There is a scene involving me and Iqbal in which we are romantic, meaning its a very romantic scene. That type of romance I had done for the first time on the screen. We were rolling and we were talking, and you know it was difficult choreography, we were on top of each other.”
“I got rashes on my body because it was so harsh. I think we shot that scene for a whole day and when that scene got over, my kajal was smudged because there was dust and dirt. But the scene looks so beautiful,” she added.
Shruti earlier shared behind-the-scenes pictures from the set on her Instagram handle. She captioned the post, “Presenting~•SAIMA•~🥀 Precious, Innocent and a piece of my heart ❤️🔥 From the first day I stepped into Sanjay Sir’s world till the last day of my shoot, I have made heart melting and warm memories on the set!!”
Reacting to the post, Fardeen Khan commented “Hello Shruti, I thoroughly enjoyed your work in Heeramandi. My best wishes for the future. FK.” Co-star Jayati Bhatia said, “Saima..saaddi soni kudi.” Rahul Shetty said, “So proud of you.”
