'Fighter,' featuring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, unfolds against the backdrop of the Indian Air Force's airstrike on Pakistan following a terrorist attack. After the recent release of the movie's trailer, several Pakistani actors, including Hania Aamir and Adnan Siddiqui, criticised the director of the film, Siddharth Anand. Breaking silence over the same, Anand questioned Hania's involvement in a movie that was perceived as being anti-India.
In response to Hania Aamir's recent Instagram Stories, Anand responded with a 'thoughtful' emoji and asked about her involvement in anti-Indian movie. The tweet questioned why Indian celebrities seem indifferent to the anti-India content in Pakistani movies, prompting Pakistani celebrities to express concern. "Didn't she literally work in a movie which was anti-India? If indian celebs have no issue with the anti-India stuff Pakistani celebs do in movies, why do Pak celebs care so much?" the tweet read.

Hania Aamir's Statement
Without naming the film, Pakistani actress Hania Amir wrote, "So sad and unfortunate to know that there are artists out there in this day and age who are aware of the power that the cinema holds and still go ahead and feed the riff between the two countries. I feel sorry for the artists who try to bridge the gap by trusting their art as a medium. Distasteful; let art breathe."
Hania's comment quickly went viral, and numerous social media users swiftly highlighted what they perceived as Hania's double standard. Many pointed out that she had acted in the film 'Parwaaz Hai Junoon' (2018), where the storyline allegedly depicted the Pakistan Air Force engaged in conflict against India.
What Adnan Siddiqui said?
Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui also said that it was 'disheartening' to see Bollywood portray Pakistanis as villains. "Once celebrated for love, Bollywood now crafts hate-filled narratives, portraying us as villains. Despite our love for your films, it's disheartening. Art transcends boundaries; let's use it to promote love and peace. Two nations, victims of politics, deserve better," he added.
Meanwhile, the recently unveiled trailer for 'Fighter' has set the stage for India's most extensive aerial action drama, slated to hit theaters on the eve of India's 75th Republic Day, January 25th, 2024. Brimming with impactful dialogues, unprecedented aerial action sequences, the dynamic chemistry between Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, and a spine-tingling background score, the trailer has spared no effort in signaling an upcoming cinematic extravaganza.
