Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi's upcoming film 'SK21' has been officially launched today in the grandest way possible welcoming Kamal Haasan, where the megastar snapped the first clapboard starting the official shoot of the film.

Raaj Kamal Films International banner shared a video of the puja ceremony showcasing the entire cast and crew of the film including director Rajkumar Periasamy, music director GV Prakash, and the female lead of the film Sai Pallavi, along with Sivakarthikeyan.

Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi are coming together for the first time and fans are eager to see the duo on screen. Starting the production of the film today, GV Prakash Kumar will score music for the film, while Kalaivanan R is hired as an editor. Action director Stefan Richter will be designing the action sequences and is well known for his work in Bollywood films including 'Shivaay', 'Kick 2', and 'Dishoom.'

Megastar Kamal Haasan and the director of the film Rajkumar Periasamy also spoke about the film, where according to a report of Pinkvilla, Kama Haasan said, "The power of a well-told story is transformative, and this story will move, uplift and inspire the audience in many ways."

He further said, "I am very proud to be collaborating with Sony Pictures Films India, actor Sivakarthikeyan, and director Rajkumar Periasamy to bring this compelling story to the big screen."

On the other hand director, Rajkumar Periasamy spoke about the film and said, "It's an absolute honor to make this film and tell this special story. I've always been an ardent admirer of Kamal Haasan sir since my childhood and my hero Sivakarthikeyan is a very close friend of mine."

He further added, "So, this project is especially dear to my heart already. Besides, I am elated to work with two Giant Powerhouses, RKFI, and Sony Pictures Films India."

The official release date of the film is yet to be announced, however almost after 5 months after the announcement of the film, the film went on floors on May 5.

Talking about the work front of the leads of the film, Sivakarthikeyan was last seen in Anudeep K.V.'s 'Prince', and will be next seen in Madonne Ashwin's 'Maaveeran.' He also has 'Ayaalan' opposite Rakul Preet Singh, directed by R. Ravikumar.

On the other hand, Sai Pallavi was last seen in Gautam Ramachandran's Tamil release 'Gargi' and has 'SK21' in her kitty.
