Sonakshi Sinha, who has been enjoying her married life with Zaheer Iqbal, recently unveiled some unknown facts about her wedding. The actress got married to her long-term boyfriend Zaheer in a private ceremony at her house on 23rd June. Sonakshi shared that she wanted an intimate wedding and grand reception so that guests could have fun. She called the wedding events ‘beautiful’ and ‘perfect’. 

In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Sonakshi said, “We had each other and this is something that we wanted to do for so long and we were very clear how we wanted it to be. We wanted it to be small and intimate. We also wanted our reception to be one big party where everybody just has fun. I didn’t want to take any stress so my house was an open house. Everybody was coming and going while I was getting my hair and makeup done. Friends are chilling in the wardrobe, decor is going on, the food is being set up. So it was literally like an open house and that’s how I wanted my D-Day to be like. It felt so homely and beautiful. It was perfect.”

Sonakshi opted for sarees rather than lehenga for her wedding festivities. For her marriage, she chose to wear her mother’s Chikankari saree and for the reception, she wore a red saree. The actress added, “I dressed simply because I wanted to be comfortable and I wanted to dance the most at my wedding, which I did.” 

Sonakshi Sinha's last movie was Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the action thriller also starred Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Manushi Chhillar, Alaya F, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Jugal Hansraj, Zina Esepciuc, Rohed Khan and Ronit Roy in pivotal roles. The movie was released in theatres on 11th April and now is streaming on Netflix.
