Sooraj Pancholi On His Jail Time: The news of actress Jiah Khan's passing away in 2013 shook the entire nation. Aditya Pancholi’s son, Sooraj Pancholi, went through a difficult phase during this time. Jiah Khan’s mother accused him of abetment of murder, which resulted in his arrest. He was kept in the Arthur Road Jail for 22 days before getting bail. While talking in the Hindi Rush podcast, he opened up about his jail time, how he was treated like a terrorist and the living conditions of the cell.

The 'Hero' fame actor said, "It's all hazy. I was just a 21-year-old boy at the time. I was sent to Arthur Road Jail, and put into the anda cell (solitary confinement). I was in the same cell where they had put Kasab. They treated me like I had done a bomb blast." He further added that he slept on newspapers without any pillow. “I’m not exaggerating. It was only after four or five years that I understood what I’d been through. It felt like a dream when it was happening. The CBI investigation happened. They kept me in the ‘anda cell’. It was difficult," the actor added.
Sooraj called that phase of life horrible because he was treated terribly. Special Judge AS Sayyad said that Jiah Khan was a victim of her own emotions and had suicidal tendencies. During the podcast interview, Sooraj reflected on his views and his present situation and said, “I am very calm in life now; what has to happen will happen. Not everything is in your control, I just want to do my best as an actor, brother, boyfriend, and friend. I want to give it my all. The rest is up to God and destiny."

On the work front, Sooraj Pancholi has made a grand comeback with the historical drama titled Kesari Veer. He is seen sharing the screen with Suniel Shetty, Vivek Oberoi, and Akanksha Sharma. During a chat session on Hauterrfly’s On A Date With, he revealed that he has charged Rs 101 as his fee. He had no intentions of doing the project for money but wanted to choose the right script, which showcased his acting skills perfectly. Kesari Veer, directed by Prince Dhiman, was released on May 23, 2025, and has crossed the Rs 1 crore mark at the box office.
