South OTT Releases This Week (Oct 7 To 13): As the festive season begins, the latest South movies and shows are all set to release in the upcoming days. All of them are highly recommended to watch with family this festive season. So you can choose your favourite dramas to binge-watch this week. From anticipated movies like Vaazhai to Tamil web series such as Jai Mahendran, check out the list of upcoming South releases in the second week of October on Netflix, Prime Video, Disney + Hotstar, SonyLIV, Zee5, JioCinema and others. 

Vaazhai (Disney + Hotstar)

The highly anticipated Tamil movie revolves around a 12-year-old boy and his loved ones. They navigate through several life challenges where a plantain tree named Vaazhai has a central presence. The film features Nikhila Vimal, Dhivya Dhuraisamy, Priyanka Nair, Kalaiyarasan, Dhivya Duraisamy, J Sathish Kumar and Karnan Janaki in key roles. Vaazhai is all set to stream on Disney + Hotstar from October 11.

Jai Mahendran (SonyLIV)

The Malayalam web series focuses on a corrupt deputy Tehsildar who plans to destroy the entire system to safeguard his job and reputation. The show stars Saiju Kurup, Suhasini Maniratnam, Rahul Riji Nair and Miya in key roles. Jai Mahendran will be streaming on SonyLIV from October 11. It will be available in several languages including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.  

Bigg Boss Tamil 8 (Disney + Hotstar)

The anticipated reality show has returned to the TV screens and as well as on the OTT platform Disney + Hotstar. This time Vijay Sethupathi is hosting the show. Bigg Boss Tamil 8 started premiering on October 6 on Disney + Hotstar. Sunitha Gogoi, Ravindar Chandrasekaran, Paal Dabba, Trichy Saravana Kumar, Gokulnath, Deepak Dinakar, Ananthi Iyappan, Ranjith, Sathya SK, Muthu Kumaran, Jegatheesan, Soundariya Nanjundan, Tharshika, Dharsha Gupta, Sachana Namidass, Aishwariyaa Bhaskaran, VJ Vishal, Anshitha Akbarsha and Jeffrey Gana have participated in Vijay Sethupathi’s show.
