With varying degrees of success, Bollywood has recently relied on South remakes to turn around its box office performance. This South remake was made on a huge budget of Rs 180 crore with top shot star cast and a special cameo appearance. Despite serving every ingredient to be a blockbuster, the movie tanked at the box office.

The movie, which had a festive release on Christmas Day, December 25, was unable to attract large audiences majorly because of fierce competition with Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2: The Rule.
