Netflix's highly anticipated Squid Game 2 has set the internet abuzz with a major musical announcement. Indian rapper Sooraj Cherukat, professionally known as Hanumankind, will feature in the soundtrack of the second season of the South Korean dystopian thriller. While fans are speculating whether his viral hit Big Dawgs will make it to the series, Netflix India revealed that a new anthem is set to drop on December 16, 2024.
On December 14, Netflix India shared a teaser post on social media, delighting global fans. The post read: "The Big Dawgs are coming to the Big Game @hanumankind is shaking up the arena with a new Squid Game anthem, dropping December 16th #SquidGame #Hanumankind @kingkalmi @bassdroppingalien"
This announcement has left fans excited, with many calling it a historic moment for Indian hip-hop. The collaboration reflects the growing global influence of Indian artists in mainstream entertainment.

Hanumankind’s track Big Dawgs, which recently climbed to the Top 10 on the Billboard Global 200 and peaked at No. 57 on the Billboard Hot 100, has already cemented its place as a viral sensation. The song's popularity skyrocketed after Kpop star Sunghoon from ENHYPEN performed a dance cover, further amplifying its reach. However, it remains unclear whether Big Dawgs will feature in Squid Game 2, or if the rapper’s new anthem will take centre stage.
The second season of Squid Game, created by Hwang Dong-hyuk, will premiere on December 26, 2024, on Netflix. The new season brings back fan-favourite characters like Seong Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-Jae) and Hwang Jun-ho (Wi Ha-Joon), while introducing a lineup of fresh faces, including Im Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul and Jo Yu-ri.
