Squid Game 3: Squid Game fans are in for an exciting 2025, as Netflix has confirmed that Squid Game 3 will premiere sometime this year. While the exact release date is still under wraps, rumours suggest that the highly anticipated season might drop as early as June 27, 2025. This speculation comes after a teaser video was briefly uploaded on Netflix’s official YouTube channel, showing the date "June 27" with the caption "Watch Squid Game on Netflix." However, the video was quickly made private, leaving fans curious about whether this will indeed be the premiere date or if a new one will be set.
Along with the buzz about the release date, Netflix unveiled the first teaser poster for Squid Game 3 on January 1, 2025. The poster features two iconic dolls from the series—Young-Hee and Cheol-Soo—who are expected to play a major role in the upcoming season. Young-Hee, the motion-sensor doll from Seasons 1 and 2, is remembered for her role in the deadly Red Light, Green Light game.
This time, she is joined by Cheol-Soo, a new doll introduced in a mid-credit scene in Squid Game 2. Both dolls are expected to take centre stage in the new season, and their eerie presence in the teaser poster has fans speculating about what deadly games they will be involved in.

The first teaser poster also confirmed that Squid Game 3 will feature returning cast members, including Lee Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun, Wi Ha Joon, Park Sung Hoon, Kang Ha Neul, Im Si Wan, Jo Yuri and Park Gyu Young, among others. The season will pick up from where Season 2 left off, continuing the intense survival story with the same set of characters. Fans are also wondering whether new characters will be introduced, but considering the abrupt ending of Season 2, it's likely that the focus will remain on the existing cast.
While rumours about big-name cameos, like Leonardo DiCaprio, have been swirling, Netflix has dismissed these claims, leaving fans to wait for official announcements. Squid Game 3 is expected to follow the intense and thrilling formula that made the series a global phenomenon, with many hoping for a satisfying conclusion to the storylines left open in Season 2.
