Sunny Deol is gearing up for his upcoming action movie Jaat, for which he has collaborated with renowned Telugu director Gopichand Malineni and producers Mythri Movie Makers. The actor, who has delivered hits throughout his career in the industry, recently revealed how Bollywood filmmakers now lack passion and belief. He also shared how the South Indian industry has progressed by learning from the Hindi film industry.
Sunny Deol opened up about the current state of Bollywood. In a conversation with Komal Nahta, he said, "The passion we once had for making cinema is somewhat lacking now. South filmmakers learned from us and moved forward. They have progressed technically and in every aspect. They are making films for the audience, not just for a selected group."
Reflecting on why Bollywood lacks passion, he stated, "Their cinema always reaches audiences everywhere. I don’t know why we stopped doing that in the middle. There must be many reasons, I am sure."
Emphasizing how Bollywood started remaking South films and found success at the box office, the Gadar 2 actor added, "This means that somewhere, our creators, producers, writers, and directors no longer have the same passion and belief. Because belief is the story—it is the hero of the film, and the person who brings it to life is the director. If we believe in both these aspects, we should work accordingly."

Talking about his upcoming movie Lahore 1947 with director Rajkumar Santoshi, he noted how their earlier collaborations have made those films relevant and alive even today.
In the same interview, he shared, “I think our collaboration is going to generate excitement because our previous three films became cult classics, and due to digital platforms, those films have stayed relevant and alive.”
Meanwhile, Sunny Deol is busy promoting his film Jaat, which is nearing its release. Besides him, the film also stars Randeep Hooda, Saiyami Kher, Regina Cassandra, Viineet Kumar Singh, Babloo Prithiveeraj, Ramya Krishnan, and Swarupa Ghosh in pivotal roles. Recently, the makers created a buzz with the trailer launch, which ignited excitement to see Sunny and his power-packed action on screen. Fans are also thrilled to watch the intense face-off between Sunny and Randeep Hooda in the movie. Fans can’t wait to watch the film on April 10.
