JE Entertainment Desk: Sushant Singh Rajput's death came as a shock to the entire nation. The actor's death has left a void in each cinema lover’s heart. On June 14, Sushant Singh was found dead at his Bandra residence in Mumbai. The actor's death was first ruled by the Mumbai Police to have been a suicide, but Rajput's family in Patna, Bihar, sought that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conduct an investigation.
Sushant Singh Rajput became a household name after his stint in Pavitra Rishta, alongside Ankita Lokhande. He made his Bollywood debut in 2013 with Kai Po Che where he bowled everyone over as Ishaan. He then won hearts with his performance in M.S. Dhoni-The Untold Story as he transformed into one of the best cricketers onscreen. Sushant had a stellar career graph, but due to his excessive commitments, he lost some even better chances at the box office.
Did you know, SSR was the first choice of acclaimed filmmakers?
Sushant Singh was considered as the first choice for most filmmakers, including Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Aditya Chopra, Ekta Kapoor, Abhishek Kapoor, and others. The lte actor was offered four projects out of which three went to other actors and he couldn't make it to the remaining one.
According to a report in Koimoi, post the actor's death, Sanjay Leela Bhansali confirmed to police officials that the actor had been given main parts in his films Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani, both of which were subsequently performed by Ranveer Singh. Additionally, Shahid Kapoor eventually accepted the part of Raja Ratan Singh in Padmaavat, which was given to him.
In a conversation with DNA, Sushant had said, "I was doing many films and they are all releasing now. (Laughs) I don’t want to name them. What happens is, when I give my word to someone, and he’s delaying (not because he wants to, but because of a particular reason) and I get to understand it, I won’t ditch. So be it the biggest film with the biggest studio or the smallest film, I won’t leave another film. So unfortunately, because of the two films that I was doing and that didn’t happen, I lost out on 12 films in the last one year. One film didn’t happen and the other was put off by a few months. And these films are the films that we generally talk about these days. Let’s not get into all that."
Kabir Singh, Fitoor, Half Girlfriend Were First Offered To Sushant
For the unversed, not only these, according to reports, SSR was also given the lead role in Abhishek Kapoor’s film Fitoor, where he was replaced by Aditya Kapoor. He was also roped in for Half Girlfriend but was later replaced by Arjun Kapoor. He was also replaced by Shahid Kapoor in Kabir Singh and also Befikre where he was replaced by Ranveer Singh.
