Sushmita Sen is back with another web series 'Taali' which is based on the life of transgender activist, Gauri Sawant. The web series revolves around Gauri's courageous transformation, her incredible journey towards motherhood and her battle that led to the inclusion of the third gender in every document in India. Directed by Ravi Jadhav and written by Kshitij Patwardhan, 'Taali' also stars Ankur Bhatia, Krutika Deo, Aishwarya Narkar and Maya Rachela McManus, among others.

Ahead of the release of her web series, Sushmita expressed gratitude towards the team of 'Taali' and her transgender co-actors. She wrote, "The power of inclusion!!! Thank you for including me!! In an interview with News18, Sushmita talked about Shreegauri Sawant's reaction after seeing 'Taali'. "She came to me, blessed me, kissed my forehead and gave me a gift. She told me, ‘I don't want to watch. Yeh jo kar rahi hai, sahi kar rahi hai. Yeh meri marble chi murti hai (Whatever she is doing, she is doing right. She is my marble statue)," she said.

She added, "We connect on a human level. The goodness she has and embodies, I see it and feel it. And it's not in the most obvious way where we go out of our way to tell people we love them. She doesn't do that."

On the work front, Sushmita Sen is currently working on 'Aarya Season 3' which will release on Hotstar.
