Tahira Kashyap reveals her breast cancer has returned after seven years. On Monday, the writer-filmmaker shared a powerful note on Instagram about her experience fighting cancer yet again. For the unversed, she was first diagonsed with it in 2018.
Tahira Kashyap, who is also actor Ayushmann Khurrana's wife, dubbed her relapse 'round two' of the battle and spread awareness about routine mammograms through her social media post. She quoted the well known saying 'when life offers you lemons, make lemonade' to potray her determination with a positive attitude.
Tahira Kashyap wrote, "#regularscreening #mammogram not shying away from saying it #breastcancer #onemoretime #letsgo. Ironically or not today is #WorldHealthDay Let’s do whatever we can in our capacity to take care of ourselves #gratitude through and through," alongside her powerful words of determination.

Tahira Kashyap's awareness post about breast cancer garnered instant reactions from her friends, family members and colleagues. Aparshakti wrote, "Big tight hug bhabhi! We know Tussi ainu viii lamaaa paa laaonge." Guneet Monga sent her best wishes, saying "I love you! This too shall pass and come out of this victorious." Mini Mathur commented, " You will win round 2 as well Tahira. Stay on course. Keep going."
Meanwhile, Tahira Kashyap has often shared her treatment path and challenges with her fans on social media throughout the years. On World Cancer Day 2025 this year, Tahira dropped another life-affirming and inspirational post. She started with a picture of her on the ramp, accepting the fact that she was bald from the side effects of chemotherapy. She also shared a ton of additional photos taken throughout her medical journey.

On the work front, Tahira Kashyap directed Sharmajee Ki Beti for the first time, which starred Sakshi Tanwar, Divya Dutta, Saiyami Kher, Vanshika Taparia, Arista Mehta, Sharib Hashmi and Parvin Dabas. In a multigenerational story, the movie centers on the hopes, dreams and maturation experiences of typical middle-class women from various origins. Sharmajee Ki Beti was released on Prime Video last year on June 28.
