To raise global awareness and assess the impact of cancer, February 4th is designated as World Cancer Day. The day aims to highlight every aspect of this crucial issue. The current theme for World Cancer Day is 'Close the care gap: Everyone deserves access to cancer care.' This three-year campaign commenced in 2022 and will extend until 2024. In commemoration of this significant day, we present a list of celebrities including Tahira Kashyap, Chhavi Mittal, Kirron Kher to Sonali Bendre, who, despite being diagnosed with cancer, have served as sources of inspiration by demonstrating resilience and overcoming the disease with strength.

Sonali Bendre

Sonali Bendre was diagnosed with metastatic cancer in July 2018. She shared the news with her fans through a heartfelt post on social media, revealing that she was undergoing treatment in New York. The actress has been an inspiration to many for her openness about her cancer journey, sharing updates about her treatment, and spreading awareness about the importance of early detection.

During her battle with cancer, Sonali underwent rigorous treatment, including chemotherapy sessions. She maintained a positive and courageous attitude throughout her journey, becoming a symbol of strength for others dealing with similar challenges. Sonali has often emphasized the significance of a strong support system, the role of mental strength, and the need for regular health check-ups. Kirron Kher

Kirron Kher revealed her battle with multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer, in April 2021. Her husband, actor Anupam Kher, shared the news through social media, requesting privacy and prayers for Kirron's well-being. The announcement came as a shock to many, and Kirron Kher's positive spirit and determination became evident as she continued to fulfill her duties as a Member of Parliament (MP) while undergoing treatment.

Manisha Koirala

Manisha Koirala, who battled ovarian cancer in 2012, successfully recovered from the disease several years ago. On January 8, 2018, she launched her autobiography titled 'Healed: How Cancer Gave Me A New Life' in Mumbai. In her book, she candidly shared her journey of overcoming cancer and emerging as a survivor. In 2019, the actress shared a poignant picture from the time of her cancer treatment, expressing gratitude for the 'second chance' at life. Tahira Kashyap
