Shalini's positive attitude towards divorce is being well-received on social media, especially in a world where divorce is still stigmatised and viewed negatively. Although some people have made misogynistic comments, the majority of responses to the actress’ post have been positive.

Shalini got married to Riaz in July 2019 and shares a daughter with him named Riya. However, a few months ago, Shalini accused Riaz of mental and physical abuse. Subsequently, she filed for divorce and celebrated her freedom with a unique photoshoot, which received mixed reactions from internet users.

Shalini started her TV career with the successful series Mulluma Malarum, where she played the role of Valli and received praise from the viewers. She also appeared on the reality show Super Mom.
