The Bengal Files Box Office Collection Day 4: The Bengal Files, directed by Vivek Agnihotri, opened in theaters on September 5, 2025. The political drama clashed with Hollywood horror film The Conjuring: Last Rites and Tiger Shroff's action-packed Baaghi 4 at the box office. Despite the fierce competition, the movie has had a modest opening at the box office. Inspired on actual events that occurred in the 1940s, The Bengal Files is a fictitious drama. On its fourth day in India, the movie brought in almost Rs 1.10 crore net,which pushed it overall revenue to Rs 7.85 crore.

The Bengal Files made Rs 1.75 crore on Friday without any shows in West Bengal. According to Sacnilk, the earnings increased by 28.57% on Saturday, reaching Rs 2.25 crore. But on Monday, the figures fell precipitously to Rs 1.10 crore.

On Monday, September 8, 2025, The Bengal Files' overall Hindi occupancy rate was 18.24%. Occupancy was lowest in the morning (9.99%) and highest at night (24.19%). Chennai had the most people watching the intense political drama, followed by Bengaluru and Mumbai. In its first week, The Bengal Files has secured less than 250 screenings nationwide.

What Is The Bengal Files All About?

The story of communal violence in Bengal is told in The Bengal Files, with special attention to the deadly Noakhali riots and the events that followed Direct Action Day. The film aims to bring attention to this tragic yet sometimes overlooked period of India's history through its tale. The ensemble cast of the movie is lead by seasoned actors Simrat Kaur, Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumar, and Mithun Chakraborty. Saswata Chatterjee, Namashi Chakraborty, Rajesh Khera, Puneet Issar, Priyanshu Chatterjee, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Sourav Das, and Mohan Kapur are among the other cast members.

Vivek Agnihotri's The Files trilogy consists of The Bengal Files as the final installment, following The Tashkent Files (2019) and The Kashmir Files (2022). Direct Action Day is the basis behind it.
