The First Slam Dunk Anime Movie: 'The First Slam Dunk' is currently one of the most popular sports anime and manga and has received an amazing response from the audience worldwide. Its movie is all set to arrive on Netflix and the OTT platform has announced its release date as well along with a poster. Fans have expressed their excitement over the movie's release and are eagerly waiting to know what will happen to Shohoku High School's basketball team.

Sharing the release date, the makers wrote, "It's game time. The First Slam Dunk streams on Netflix on August 25!"

The movie revolves around Ryota Miyagi, the point guard of Shohoku High School's basketball team. He and his teammates Hanamichi Sakuragi, Takenori Akagi, Hisashi Mitsui, and Kaede Rukawa challenge the inter-high basketball champions, the Sannoh school.

Written and directed by Takehiko Inoue and produced by Toei Animation and Dandelion Animation Studio, 'The First Slam Dunk' is based on Inoue's Slam Dunk manga series. As per reports, it won the Japan Academy Prize for Animation of the Year in 2023 and also became the fifth highest-grossing anime film of all time.
