Netflix India has announced a docu-series titled 'The Indrani Mukerjea Story: Buried Truth' and has revealed its release date as well. The series will be based on the Sheena Bora murder case.

'The Indrani Mukerjea Story Buried Truth Release Date' will release on Netflix on February 23, 2024.

Announcing the series, Netflix India wrote on Instagram, "A sensational scandal that rocked the entire nation, with one family's darkest secrets at the center of it all."

The docu-series has been announced after the release of Indrani Mukerjea’s memoir 'Unbroken: The Untold Story'. It will feature insights from Indrani Mukerjea, her children, experienced journalists, and legal professionals and will focus on dysfunctional family dynamics and intricate motivations.

For the unversed, Indrani Mukerjea, the prime accused in the 2012 high-profile murder case of Sheena Bora, was granted bail in May 2022 by the Supreme Court. The case grabbed the attention in 2012 after Sheena Bora went missing. Later in August 2015, Mumbai Police arrested her mother Indrani, her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna, driver Shyamvar Rai and former media executive Peter Mukerjea for allegedly abducting and killing Sheena.
