Sudipto Sen's The Kerala Story has been creating waves in the Indian film industry since its release. The movie is about an innocent Hindu woman, who is forced to convert to Islam in order to join the ISIS terrorist organisation. The movie stars Adah Sharma, Yogina Bihani, Sonia Balani and Siddhi Idnani in lead roles.
Now, producer and distributor Mukesh Ratilal Mehta recently addressed the media, informing that the Malayalam version of The Kerala Story will release on May 12. In a conversation with TNIE, he state, "We expect to release the Malayalam version on May 12. The censorship processes are currently in progress."

The Kerala Story has been surrounded by controversies since the release of its first trailer. Recently, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee banned the film in the state. Hours after Banerjee spoke against the movie, director Sudipto Sen said, "Unfortunate that Mamata Banerjee without watching the film has banned it. The decision to ban the film is politically motivated."
It is pertinent to note that Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh have made The Kerala Story tax-free.

Recently, Adah Sharma haeaded to her Twitter handle and requested everyone to not call The Kerala Story a propaganda film. She said, "And for the the few still calling #TheKeralaStory a propaganda film ,saying these incidents do not exist even after watching testimonials of several Indian victims,,,my humble request , Google two words ISIS and Brides...maybe an account of white girls narrated to you might make you feel that our Indian movie is real."
