Indian cinema is witnessing its golden era in the year 2023. From Pathaan, Satyaprem Ki Kathaa, Jailer, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Jawan, and more, movies from Bollywood as well as the entire South industry have been ruling at the box office. The year is not yet end and there are some big releases like Salaar, Leo, Dunki, and more. Well, the filmmakers have also prepared for 2024 with the upcoming as well as most-anticipated releases of movies like Devara, Thangalaan, and more.

Salaar

Salaar is one of the highly-anticipated projects of the year. The movie was scheduled to hit the theatres on September 28, but it faced unexpected postponement owing to ‘unforeseen circumstances.” The new release date of the movie is yet to be announced. Prabhas plays a titular character in Salaar. He will be seen in the role of a gangster who makes a promise to a dying friend by taking on other criminal gangs.The movie also features Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, and Jagapathi Babu in pivotal roles. Salaar is being directed by Prashanth Neel, the man behind the success of KGF 2.

Kanguva

Kanguva is actor Suriya's 42nd movie. The forthcoming Tamil-language historical action drama film Kanguva, which is being billed as Kanguva: A Mighty Valiant Saga, is directed by Siva and written by Adi Narayana. Under the names Studio Green and UV Creations, it is being produced by K. E. Gnanavel Raja, V. Vamsi Krishna Reddy, and Pramod Uppalapati.

Pushpa 2

A forthcoming action drama movie in the Telugu language called Pushpa 2: The Rule is being written and directed by Sukumar. The film is being bankrolled Mythri Movie Makers in collaboration with Sukumar Writings. Allu Arjun will play the title role with Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil. The storyline of Pushpa 2 follows the life of Pushpa Raj, played by Allu Arjun, who works as a laborer in the illegal trade of red sandalwood in the forests of Tirupati. 

Game Changer

Game Changer marks directorial debut of S. Shankar. The upcoming Indian Telugu-language political action thriller film has been written by Karthik Subbaraj. Produced by Dil Raju and Sirish under the banner Sri Venkateswara Creations, the film stars Ram Charan, leading an ensemble cast that includes Kiara Advani, Anjali, S. J. Suryah, Jayaram, Sunil, Srikanth, Samuthirakani, and Nassar.

Devara

South superstar NTR Jr is currently working with Koratala Siva on a massive Pan Indian actioner ‘Devara’, co-starring Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles. After NTR’s 'RRR' success, Koratala Siva is paying close attention to every detail and is determined to turn this movie into a pan-Indian hit. In the movie, Janhvi Kapoor will be seen as a village belle in the movie. According to OTT Play, the actor will be seen as the fisherman's daughter and will play a significant role in the events. Janhvi will be clad in half sarees, which used to be the traditional outfit of Telugu girls in the earlier years. On the other hand, Saif Ali Khan will take on the role of antagonist.

Tiger 3

Produced with an estimated budget of ₹300 crore, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif-starrer is touted as one of the most expensive Hindi and Indian films of all time. The third installment will also star Emraan Haashmi in the lead role.

Indian 2

'Indian 2' is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language vigilante action film directed by S. Shankar, intended as a sequel to his 1996 film Indian. Produced by Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies, the movie stars an ensemble cast of Kamal Haasan, Siddharth, Gulshan Grover, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Samuthirakani, Bobby Simha, Guru Somasundaram, Delhi Ganesh, Jayaprakash and Vennela Kishore.

Kaithi 2

Synopsis: Dhilli's mysterious old truth revealed after he helped the police officer and met his old enemy.. His life and his daughter's life was in danger because of dhilli's history.

Leo

'Leo' is scheduled to be released in theatres worldwide on 19 October 2023 in standard, IMAX, 4DX, and other premium formats. The movie stars Thalapathy Vijay and Trisha Krishnan in lead roles. As it is Vijay's 67th film as a lead actor, the movie was formally announced in January 2023 under the working title Thalapathy 67. A few days later, the title of the movie was revealed.

Dunki

Dunki is centered around the rampant use of an illegal backdoor route called 'Donkey Flight' by immigrants to enter countries like Canada and USA. The movie stars Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani and Vicky Kaushal. The movie is being directed by Rajkumar Hirani and is set to hit the theatres on December 22, this year.

Thangalaan

Thangalaan is a historical drama that is set in Kolar Gold Mines and centers on a land dispute between local indigenous people and outside powers. The movie stars Chiyaan Vikram in the lead role.

Empuraan

Prithviraj Sukumaran and Murali Gopy will soon release the action-thriller movie L2 Empuraan in the Malayalam language. produced by Antony Perumbavoor through Aashirvad Cinemas, his production company. With leading performances by Mohanlal, Prithviraj, Manju Warrier, and Tovino Thomas.
