Tripti Dimri and Avinash Tiwary’s Laila Majnu to be re-released soon. Sajid Ali’s directorial will be released again on 9th August after the movie’s demand increased. Initially released in 2018, the film was declared a flop at the box office. However, when it was released on OTT platforms like Zee5 and Prime Video, the movie gained a lot of popularity among the audience. Tripti shared that the film got a second chance and expressed her gratitude that not every movie gets that opportunity. Taking to her Instagram, she also shared the news and wrote “Humari kahani likhi hui hai✨ #lailamajnu is making a comeback after 6 years❤️ … this is nothing short of a dream come true.. and its only because of your love for our film… Thank you 🙏🏻… See you in theatres on 9th AUGUST ‘24.”

The actress told Hindustan Times, “When the film released you expect a reaction similar to what we are seeing now. All of us who had worked on the film knew how and what it was. Sadly, back then people didn't watch it. We got so much love from people when it dropped on OTT.”

“All these years since the release of Laila Majnu, I have received messages from fans every single day. We are all very happy that the film is getting so much love now and it is re-releasing across India. I love that people are celebrating Laila Majnu now, as we felt bad when it didn't happen earlier. I am and everyone is overwhelmed and emotional. I believe it was houseful in theatres in Kashmir. This is a second chance for our film and not every film gets that. We are grateful and blessed,” Tripti added.

Laila Majnu also stars Sahiba Bali, Sumit Kaul, Mir Sarwar, Farhana Bhat, Benjamin Gilani, Vasundhara Kaul and Parmeet Sethi in key roles. The movie was earlier released on 7th September 2018.
