Cha Eun Woo and Park Eun Bin have officially started filming their highly anticipated superhero drama, The Wonder Fools. The production kicked off on October 23, 2024, as confirmed by Kim Jong Do, the president of Park Eun Bin’s agency, Namoo Actors. He shared a glimpse of the first shoot on Instagram, captioning a photo with, “#ParkEunBin #TheWonderFools #FirstShoot.”

The Wonder Fools is set to be a fantasy drama that revolves around "flawed" superheroes struggling to manage their unwanted powers. Cha Eun Woo will portray Lee Un Jeong, a civil servant with a socially awkward personality and a troubled past. Park Eun Bin will play Eun Chae Ni, a wealthy young woman dealing with a heart condition, which makes her both fragile and strong-willed. Their paths cross, leading Lee Un Jeong to discover the value of human connections through his bond with Eun Chae Ni.

The series is directed by Yoo In Shik, known for his work on the popular rom-com Extraordinary Attorney Woo, which also starred Park Eun Bin. The script is penned by Heo Da Joong, famous for the hit film Extreme Job. The Wonder Fools is jointly produced by Kakao Entertainment, Fantagio, and Romantic Crew, with details about its release platform to be announced soon.

Fans are eagerly anticipating the chemistry between Cha Eun Woo and Park Eun Bin, both of whom have excelled in various genres. Cha Eun Woo is recognized for his roles in True Beauty, My ID is Gangnam Beauty and A Good Day to Be a Dog, while Park Eun Bin has gained fame from Extraordinary Attorney Woo, Castaway Diva, Hello My Twenties and The King’s Affection.

Joining this star-studded cast are veteran actress Kim Hae Sook, who plays Chae-ni's grandmother, and Kim Jeon Bok, known for her warm presence in Kdramas, as Chae-ni's last remaining family member. The characters Son Kyung Hoon and Kang Ro Bin, portrayed by Choi Dae Hoon and Im Seong Jae respectively, add to the mix as the city hall's chief complainer and the ultimate pushover. Their comedic synergy is sure to delight viewers. Son Hyun Joo, known for his role in The Good Detective, will play Ha Won Do, a character with a dark side who brings an intriguing dynamic to the series.

The WONDERfools is helmed by director Yoo In Shik, famous for his work on Extraordinary Attorney Woo, with the script penned by Heo Da Joong, the writer behind Extreme Job. The creative team also includes Kang Eun Kyung, known for Dr Romantic and Gyeongseong Creature, who adds depth to the show's development.

Described as a quirky blend of humour and action, The WONDERfools tells the story of a group of awkward townsfolk who unexpectedly acquire superpowers and band together to combat villains threatening their city. The drama is produced by NANGMANCREW, Kakao Entertainment, and co-produced by FANTAGIO, which also manages Cha Eun Woo's Kpop group, ASTRO.
