Tumbbad Re-Release Box Office Collection Day 8: The critically acclaimed re-release of Tumbbad has kicked off its second week with impressive momentum, showing nearly a 100% increase in earnings on its second Friday compared to Thursday. This surge can be attributed to National Cinema Day and the film's growing positive word of mouth. In its first week, Tumbbad garnered around ₹13.15 crores net, including ₹7.25 crores during its opening weekend. Given the favourable reception and the lure of lower ticket prices during NCD, the film's collections skyrocketed on the second Friday.
Originally released in 2018, this Indian folklore horror film has experienced a remarkable revival at the box office with its 2024 re-release in India. This resurgence highlights its evolution into a cult classic, a stark contrast to its initial release performance six years ago.
Tumbbad Re-Release BO report
Sohum's film continues to perform strongly despite new releases. Estimates suggest that Tumbbad is set to earn between ₹2.50 and ₹2.75 crores net on its eighth day, marking a jump of over 40% from its first Friday and around a 90% increase from Thursday. With this momentum, the film's second weekend could reach up to ₹8 crores net, surpassing its opening weekend earnings.
The total collection for Tumbbad's re-release stands at approximately ₹15.75 crores net, which means it has already outperformed its original run’s lifetime collection of ₹13.50 crores in just eight days. This impressive resurgence has transformed the film's fortunes, establishing it as a notable success story.
