Tumbbad Re-Release Box Office Day 11: The horror fantasy film starring Sohum Shah, has been performing remarkably well at the ticket windows during its re-release. Originally launched on October 12, 2018, the film struggled to make a significant impact, but gained popularity after being featured on OTT, leading the creators to bring it back to theaters on September 13. This re-release has been a success, surpassing its initial lifetime earnings of Rs 13.57 crore and achieving the highest second weekend box office numbers compared to its first run. As a result, Tumbbad has now exceeded 20 crore net during its second weekend alone, solidifying its status as a folk horror thriller that resonates with audiences.

As per Sacnilk, the total net collection for the second weekend of Tumbbad's re-release is approximately Rs 7.60 crores, surpassing the first weekend's earnings of Rs 7.25 crores. This strong performance can be attributed to overwhelmingly positive word of mouth, resulting in a consistent daily trend at the box office. After 10 days, the re-release has grossed around Rs 21.57 crores net, which is already more than 50% of the original film's lifetime collection of 13.50 crores net. The movie is on track to potentially become the highest-grossing Indian re-release in the near future, and it continued to perform well even on the following Monday.

Tumbbad Re-Release Box Office Report

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Sohum Shah's Tumbbad earned Rs 2.59 crore on its 10th day (the second Sunday), bringing its total net collection in India to Rs 22.63 crore. The film is poised to make history as the highest-grossing Hindi re-release in the country. With strong performance on Monday, it could potentially add another Rs 2 crore to its total.

About Tumbbad

The film follows a Marathi family residing in Tumbbad who create a shrine for a deity named Hatsar, whose wealth is said to be cursed. This decision leads to numerous hardships in their lives. Starring Sohum Shah, Jyoti Malshe, Dhundiraj Prabhakar, Ronjini Chakraborty, Mohammad Samad, and Harish Khanna, Tumbbad is directed by Rahi Anil Barve and creatively shaped by Anand Gandhi.

It has captivated audiences with its intriguing storyline and unique take on the horror fantasy genre. The narrative centers on a man's relentless quest for hidden treasure in a cursed village, intertwining themes of myth, folklore, and human greed against a stunning visual backdrop.

Its re-release, supported by Eros International and Aanand L Rai, has rekindled interest from both fans and critics, attracting new viewers while pleasing longtime supporters. Adding to the excitement, Sohum Shah has confirmed that a sequel, Tumbbad 2, is in development, further increasing anticipation for the film's re-release as fans look forward to a deeper dive into its haunting universe.
