The Indian Tamil-language film ‘Japan’ unfolds as a heist action comedy under the creative direction of Raju Murugan. Produced by S. R. Prakash Babu and S. R. Prabhu for Dream Warrior Pictures, the movie features a cast led by Karthi and Anu Emmanuel, with notable performances by Sunil, Vijay Milton, and Jithan Ramesh. Japan was released on 10 November 2023, the week of Diwali, and received mixed reviews from critics.

The movie is all set to stream on Netflix on on December 11. 

Jigarthanda Double X

The Indian Tamil-language film ‘Jigarthanda DoubleX’ (also known as Jigarthanda 2) unfolds as a Western action comedy directed by Karthik Subbaraj. The movie is a joint production of Karthik Subbaraj, Kaarthekeyen Santhanam, S. Kathiresan, and Alankar Pandian under the banners of Stone Bench Films, Five Star Creations, and Invenio Origin. Serving as a prequel to the 2014 film ‘Jigarthanda’, the narrative is set in the 1970s and follows the collaboration between a filmmaker and a gangster as they embark on the creation of a Western film. The stellar cast includes Raghava Lawrence and S. J. Suryah.

Dhoomam (Tamil)

‘Dhoomam’ is an action thriller film in the Malayalam language, written and directed by Pawan Kumar. Produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films, marking their debut in Malayalam cinema, the movie features Fahadh Faasil and Aparna Balamurali in lead roles. The ensemble cast also includes Roshan Mathew, Vineeth, Anu Mohan, Achyuth Kumar, Joy Mathew, and Nandhu. Released on June 23, 2023, the film received mixed reviews. The movie is currently streaming on Apple TV+, but it will be available in Tamil language on Book My Show stream from December 5.

‘800’ is a biographical sports film in the Indian Tamil language released in 2023. The movie is centered around the life and achievements of Muttiah Muralitharan, the renowned Sri Lankan international cricketer and the highest wicket-taker in cricket history. Directed by M.S. Sripathy, with a screenplay by M.S. Sripathy and Shehan Karunatilaka, the film is produced by Movie Train Motion Pictures and Vivek Rangachari, and presented by Sridevi Movies and Sivalenka Krishna Prasad. Madhur Mittal takes on the lead role in this cinematic portrayal. 800 is currently streaming on Jio Cinema.
