VD 14, starring Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, has finally got its official title. The film has been titled Ranabaali. Set in 19th-century India, the action thriller is based on real historical events. On the occasion of Republic Day, the makers made a big reveal. After months of anticipation and growing buzz around the project, they officially shared the first glimpses of the cast. From the character's introduction to release date, here's everything you need to know about Vijay and Rashmika's Ranabaali, helmed by Rahul Sankrityan.

Vijay Deverakonda's VD14 Titled Ranabaali

The makers announced the title as Ranabaali starring Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles. They also revealed that the film is set to release worldwide in September.

Taking to X handle, Vijay dropped the VD14 title announcement video along with a caption that read, "The British called him a “SAVAGE” I do not Disagree. He was “OUR” Savage! Introducing THE one and Only “RANABAALI” And setting the record straight on our history which they tried to Bury. #RANABAALI."

Ranabaali Plot Details
Set in the 19th century, Ranabaali is inspired by real historical events that took place between 1854 and 1878 and is being mounted as a massive pan-India project.

The glimpses from Ranabaali feature a valiant man who fights against the unjust rule of the British to ensure the welfare of his people. Vijay Deverakonda is seen in a fierce, commanding presence as Ranabaali, sporting a striking new look. His character is seen riding atop a horse while dragging a British officer behind him. Rashmika Mandanna plays Jayamma, while Arnold Vosloo appears as the antagonist, Sir Theodore Hector, adding depth to Rahul Sankrityan's narrative.

Ranabaali Cast And Crew Members

Ranabaali brings Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna together once again after their previous collaborations in Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade. Fans are excited to see their much-loved on-screen pairing reunite. The film marks Vijay Deverakonda’s third collaboration with the banner Mythri Movie Makers, headed by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar, known globally for delivering the Pushpa franchise.

The project also reunited Vijay with director Rahul Sankrityan after their super hit Taxiwaala. The film is presented by T-Series, and the music is composed by Ajay–Atul, adding further scale and grandeur to the project.

Ranabaali Release Date

The upcoming action thriller is scheduled to release in theatres on September 11, 2026, and will be released in multiple languages, including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
