Leelavathi Death: Veteran Kannada actor Leelavathi has passed away. On Friday evening, she breathed her last at a private hospital located in Nelamangala, on the outskirts of Bengaluru city. Commencing her acting career at the age of 16, Leelavathi was cast in significant roles, often playing the lead alongside renowned actors like Dr. Rajkumar, M.G. Ramachandran, N.T. Rama Rao, Sivaji Ganesan, and Gemini Ganesan.
Mourning the demise of his mother, Vinod Raj said, "I am now left alone. Thankfully Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM D K Shivakumar got her admitted to the hospital."
Siddaramaiah mourned the demise of Leelavathi and wrote on his official X account, "The news of the passing away of veteran Kannada actress Leelavati is painful. Just last week, after hearing about his illness, I visited his home and inquired about his health and talked to his son Vinod Raj. My belief that Lilavati, who entertained the audience with her mesmerizing performances for many decades, will recover and stay with us for more time is false. I pray that the soul of the deceased may rest in peace and his family may find strength to bear this grief."
