Tamil actor Manoj Bharathiraja has passed away at the age of 48 due to a heart attack at his residence in Chennai. His manager confirmed the news to News18, stating that Manoj had recently undergone bypass surgery and was recuperating, but unfortunately succumbed to a cardiac arrest, leaving everyone in shock. As the son of legendary filmmaker Bharathiraja, Manoj followed in his father's footsteps, making his acting debut in his father's film Taj Mahal. Throughout his career, Manoj played lead roles in notable films such as Allu Arjuna, Samidhiram, and Varshamellam Vasantham, showcasing his versatility as an actor.
His untimely demise has sent shockwaves through the Tamil film industry, with many fans and fellow actors expressing their condolences, including Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin and actress Khushbu Sundar.
In addition to his acting career, Manoj Bharathiraja had also ventured into other aspects of filmmaking, notably working as an assistant to renowned Tamil director Shankar on the blockbuster film Enthiran. In recent years, Manoj had transitioned to playing supporting roles in various films, including Champion, Eeswaran, Maanaadu, and Viruman.
His latest appearance was in the OTT web series Snakes and Ladders, marking his digital debut. The sudden and untimely passing of Manoj has sent shockwaves through the Tamil film industry, leaving his colleagues, friends and fans in a state of mourning.
Manoj Bharathiraja is survived by his loving family, including his wife Nandanna and their two daughters, Arthika and Mathivadani, who are now left to mourn the untimely loss of their beloved husband and father.
