A much-anticipated box office clash between Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava and Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule has reportedly been averted, as per recent updates. Initially, both films were slated for a December release, but the makers of Chhaava have decided to change its release date to avoid competing with the massive fanbase and appeal of Pushpa 2.

According to a Midday report, Chhaava will not be delayed; instead, it will arrive earlier than planned. This decision allows both films to maximize their box office potential without overlapping audiences. Trade expert Taran Adarsh also commented on the situation, noting that the anticipated success of Pushpa 2 across multiple languages could affect Chhaava’s performance. With substantial budgets invested in both films, this date shift could protect their respective revenues and audience reach.

Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava stars Vicky Kaushal as the Maratha warrior-king Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Kaushal is joined by Akshaye Khanna, who portrays the role of Aurangzeb, alongside a talented cast that includes Rashmika Mandanna, Ashutosh Rana, Divya Dutta, Neil Bhoopalam and Santosh Juvekar. The historical epic is produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films and showcases a deeply-rooted storyline in Maratha history, emphasizing themes of loyalty, bravery and leadership.

Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2: The Rule continues the saga that began with the 2021 hit Pushpa: The Rise. Allu Arjun returns as Pushpa Raj, alongside Rashmika Mandanna as Srivalli and Fahadh Faasil as Bhanwar Singh Shekawat. The sequel will explore Pushpa’s rise from a daily-wage laborer to a powerful red sanders smuggler and his struggle to maintain his position amidst increasing threats. Initially planned for release on December 6, the date has now been moved up to December 5, allowing fans to enjoy the film a day earlier. Pushpa 2 will be released in multiple languages, including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Bengali.
