Vidya Balan filed a complaint with the Mumbai Police, alleging that an individual had created a fake Instagram account in her name and was soliciting money from individuals. Mumbai police reported that an unknown individual had created a duplicate Instagram ID and was promising people job opportunities in exchange for money. The Khar Police has filed an FIR under Section 66 (C) of the Information Technology Act.

Vidya, who enjoys a large online following and regularly shares videos and reels cherished by her fans, faced a serious issue when someone began misusing her name, soliciting money from individuals. According to a police officer, an unidentified individual created a duplicate Instagram account and a Gmail address in Vidya Balan's name. Using these accounts, the perpetrator contacted individuals associated with the Bollywood industry, promising them job opportunities in exchange for money.

According to ANI, upon learning of this deception, Vidya Balan promptly lodged a complaint with the Mumbai Police. Acting on Balan's complaint, the Khar Police initiated an investigation and registered an FIR against the unknown individual under Section 66 (C) of the Information Technology Act.

Previously, she had mentioned the incident in her Instagram stories, highlighting how someone was operating an account under her name.

Vidya Balan's work front

Shifting focus to Vidya's upcoming projects, she is poised to return to the 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa' franchise. Renowned for her portrayal of Manjulika in the 2007 psychological horror-comedy film 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa', the actress is set to reprise her role. Recently, actor Kartik Aaryan, who played a prominent role in the second installment and is set to star in a leading role in the third, warmly welcomed Vidya on board.

"And its happening. Og Manjulika is coming back to the world of BhoolBhulaiyaa Super thrilled to welcome @balanvidya. This Diwali is going to be crackling #BhoolBhulaiyaa3 @aneesbazmee @tseries.official #BhushanKumar," he wrote. Kartik also shared an edited video that seamlessly merged Vidya's iconic portrayal of Manjulika from the first installment with his own visuals from the second part.
