Vidya Balan took to her official Instagram account on January 19 to share an update regarding a fake account impersonating the Bollywood actor. The fake account goes by the username @vidya.balan.pvt and is a private account that claims to be Balan’s official private account. This account also mentions Balan’s official public account in the bio to easily deceive people.

Balan took to her Instagram stories and wrote, “Hello everyone. First, it was a phone number and now someone is using this account @vidya.balan.pvt and reaching out to people as me.

My team and I have of course reported it but if you can do report the account as well, it will be of great help. This individual has reached out to a lot of my friends and colleagues pretending to be me. Please do not entertain and do report and block.”

Balan has urged her fans and followers to report and block the fake account. She has also mentioned that the account reached out to her friends and colleagues pretending to be her. Fake accounts and associated online behaviour must be regulated. People must report fake accounts and stay aware of these issues.

Recently, the motion poster of Balan's upcoming film 'Do Aur Do Pyaar' opposite Illeana D'Cruz, Sendhil Ramamurthy, and Pratik Gandhi was released. The romantic drama is slated to be released on March 29, 2024. It is directed by Shirsha Guha Thakurta.
