Vijay Deverakonda To Donate This Amount From Kushi Salary To 100 Families; Names The Form ‘Devera Family’

Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha Ruth Prabhu are currently basking in the success of their recent venture ‘Kushi.’ The film hit theatres on September 1 and is helmed by director Shiva Nirvana. During the promotions of the film in Hyderabad, Vijay Deverakonda was recently seen surprising the audience at a theatre. Later on, he was spotted attending a promotional event in Visakhapatnam, and announced that he would donate Rs 1 Crore from his film’s remuneration to 100 families in need.

The actor also layed out the reason and revealed that he wishes to spread ‘Kushi’ i.e. happiness amongst his fans and would donate Rs 1 Lakh each to 100 families. ‘Kushi’ was released in multiple languages and despite receiving mixed reviews, the film is running strong in theatres. On its first Sunday, the film earned Rs 11 Crore, however saw a major fall on Day 4 and only raked Rs 4 Crore in India.

According to a report in India Today, Vijay Deverakonda said, “You are happy and I am happy. I am thinking of something and I don't know if I can pull it off or whether its right or wrong. But, if I don't do it, I'll be sleepless. To spread joy with you guys, I will donate Rs 1 crore from my 'Kushi' salary to 100 families. I shall select 100 families in need and present them with Rs 1 lakh cheque each in the next 10 days. My success, my happiness and my salary should be shared with you all."

He further said, “I will share a form on my social media page tomorrow. I still haven't come up with a plan. I will name the form 'Spreading Kushi' or 'Devera family' and send it. If the money helps people to pay their rent or fees or anything, I'd be happy. We will have a success celebration for 'Kushi' in Hyderabad in the next 10 days. Before that, I will try and complete this and help 100 families. Once I complete this, I'd be able to enjoy the success truly."

Talking about the film, ‘Kushi’ is a romantic drama of Viplav and Aradhya, essayed by Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The film went on to earn Rs 70 Crore in just three days worldwide. The film is produced by Mythri Movie Makers, whereas the music score is given by Hesham Abdul Wahab.
