Vikrant Massey's fans and followers are devastated by his abrupt retirement announcement on December 1. In his Instagram post, the actor stated that he will no longer be acting and will instead focus on his future roles as a husband, father, and son. Amidst this, Vikrant Massey's old statement, in which he voiced concerns over the safety of his 9-month-old son Vardhan, is going viral on social media.

Vikrant recently disclosed his fear while promoting the movie 'The Sabarmati Report.' The movie caused controversy because it was modelled on the 2002 Godhra train fire. In an interview, Vikrant reportedly said that he was getting threats via WhatsApp and social media and that his 9-month-old son Vardhan was also being targeted.

"Mujhe mere social media, WhatsApp pe threat aa rahe hain. Yeh log jaante hain ki main 9 mahine pehle ek bacche ka pita bana hoon. Mera baccha jo theek se chal bhi nahi pata, uska naam beech mein liya ja raha hai. Uski suraksha ke liye mujhe chinta mein daala ja raha hai. Hum kis samaj mein jee rahe hain? Afsos hota hai, dar nahi lagta. Meanwhile, Vikrant Massey's retirement post read, "The last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. I thank each and every one of you for your indelible support (namaste emoji). But as I move forward, I realise its time to recalibrate and go back home. As a Husband, Father & a Son. And also as an Actor. So coming 2025, we would meet each other for one last time. Until time deems right. Last 2 movies and many a years of memories. Thank you again. For everything and everything in between (red heart emoji). Forever indebted (red heart emoji)."

Vikrant Massey, Raashi Khanna and Riddhi Dogra starred in the Dheeraj Sarna-directed film The Sabarmati Report. The terrible burning of the Sabarmati Express's S-6 coach and its aftermath were revisited in the movie. The film was screened at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2024 and has garnered critical acclaim despite the controversy. Union Home Minister Amit Shah recently met with the cast and praised the hard work put into the movie.

Since its November 15 release, the film has crossed the Rs 30 crore mark at the domestic box office and has been declared tax-free in several states, including Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh.
