A viral video also shows Sara Ali Khan and Ayushmann Khurrana in a heated argument, with the two actors sitting in a car. The 2019 film Pati Patni Aur Woh is now set for a sequel, but this time with a fresh twist in casting. Ayushmann Khurrana has reportedly replaced Kartik Aaryan in the lead role, while Sara Ali Khan and Wamiqa Gabbi will play his two love interests. According to reports by Peeping Moon, the makers were keen on introducing new on-screen pairings with proven comic timing, and they found the dynamic between Ayushmann, Wamiqa, and Sara to be a perfect fit for the sequel's light-hearted yet romantic narrative.

Earlier, a source quoted by Pinkvilla revealed that Sara Ali Khan immediately agreed to join the project after hearing the script. The source added, “Sara and Ayushmann are a fresh combo in the comic space, and the actress fits the T for the character’s brief. She heard the script, and it was an instant yes from her side for the film."
