Marathi actress Urmila Kothare's car tragically drove over two labourers in the Kandivali neighbourhood of Mumbai, killing one and gravely injuring the other. Additionally, the actress and her driver suffered injuries in the collision.

Urmila Kothare was returning home from a shoot when the tragedy happened. Based on preliminary information, the car impacted the workers who were working on a rail project after the driver lost control of the vehicle while driving at a fast speed.

Actress Urmila Kothare, whose maiden name is Kanetkar, is best known for her parts in Marathi films including Duniyadari, Shubha Mangal Saavadhan, Mala Aai Vhhaychy! and Ti Saddhya Kay Karte, as well as shows like Asambhav and Goshta Eka Lagnachi.

She returned to the small screen this year in a Marathi TV series called Tujhech Mee Geet Gaat Ahe', following a 12-year hiatus. Urmila Kothare has also ventured into Hindi cinema and in 2014, she made her Telugu film debut with the film Welcome Obama.

She married actor and director Adinath Kothare in 2011 following their collaboration on 'Shubha Mangal Saavadhaan. Her father-in-law, Mahesh Kothare is a well-known producer and director in the Marathi film industry. 

As of now, Urmila Kothare's family has not commented on the accident. Some fans have wished for the actress' recovery, while others have voiced their sympathy for the deceased labourer and the injured worker.
