NewJeans' journey to stardom has been nothing short of remarkable. They made headlines by performing at Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve, becoming the first K-pop group to do so. The group also achieved a significant feat at the Mnet Asia Music Awards, winning Artist of the Year and Song of the Year. Min Hee Jin emphasized the importance of the members' naturalness and how it sets NewJeans apart. She believes that the group's appeal lies in their authenticity and genuine personalities. Min Hee Jin described the group as having a "matching mood" and explained that when choosing the members, she focused on their potential and budding qualities rather than just their visuals or singing abilities.

She also discussed the strategy behind NewJeans' surprise debut, stating that they wanted to use the element of surprise to their advantage. Min Hee Jin believes that the more you conceal something, the more curiosity it creates, which ultimately led to heightened interest in the group. Another interesting aspect was each member having their own music videos for one of the group's earliest songs 'Hype Boy'.
