The KGF actor Yash has joined the cast of his upcoming film Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas, featuring Nayanthara as the female lead. While excitement for the film is growing, rumours about it being shelved circulated on social media, a few days ago. However, the actor has confirmed that his much-anticipated film Toxic will not release on its initially scheduled date of April 10, 2025.

The gangster action drama has faced delays due to scheduling conflicts among its cast, which includes Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, and Huma Qureshi. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Yash noted that the announcement of the original release date was made too soon. He explained that they needed to begin filming earlier, but encountered scheduling issues that have led to the delay, making it impossible to meet the planned release. "We had to start a little early, but something went wrong. We had some date issues, so it took more time than expected. I won’t be able to come out with the film on that date," Yash said.

Yash also acknowledged that aligning the schedules of actors from various film industries has posed a significant challenge for the production. He mentioned that bringing the entire cast together is particularly difficult, given the film's large ensemble and their busy schedules.

Toxic release date

The actor chose not to provide a new release date, emphasising that he prefers to wait until everything is confirmed before making any commitments. He highlighted the importance of credibility, noting that this is the first time they’ve announced a date they couldn't meet and that filming hadn’t even begun yet.

Meanwhile, Toxic is a period drama centered around a drug cartel operating out of Goa, featuring the tagline "A fairy tale for grown-ups." Initially, the filmmakers intended to cast Kareena Kapoor Khan as the female lead, but after approaching Nayanthara, reports suggest that the Bollywood actress opted out, allowing the lady superstar to join the cast. The film will also feature Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Shruti Haasan in key roles. A title teaser has already been released, and more updates are expected soon.
