Mammootty’s ‘Yatra’ hit theatres in 2019 and received an overwhelming response from the audience. Now, the makers of the film are bringing back the sequel of the film, which will hit theatres next year in February. ‘Yatra 2’ is helmed by Mahi V Raghav and stars Mammooty and Jiiva in the lead role. The second part of the film is based on the political journey of YS Jagan, whereas the first installment was about the late CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy. Mammootty shared the first official poster of the film on his social media handle which looks indeed intriguing.

Sharing the first look poster on X (formerly known as Twitter), Mammootty wrote, “Presenting the first look of #Yatra2. In cinemas worldwide from 8th Feb, 2024. #Yatra2FL #Yatra2OnFeb8th #LegacyLivesOn @JiivaOfficial @ShivaMeka @MahiVraghav (sic)." The film will hit theatres on February 8, 2024.

‘Yatra 2’ will revolve around the political journey and his victory in the 2019 elections. YS Jagan is the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. The film is produced by Tree Autumn Leaves and V Celluloid banners, while Santhodh Narayana has given the music score of the film.

Talking about the work front of the lead actors, Mammootty is currently basking in the success of ‘Kannur Squad’ which is helmed by Roby Varghese Raj. He will next be seen in ‘Kaathal: The Core’ with Jyothika, and has ‘Bazooka’ and ‘Bramayugam’ in the pipeline.

On the other hand, Jiiva was last seen in ‘Varalaru Mukkiyam’ which is helmed and written by Santhosh Rajan. He also made a cameo appearance in the film ‘Custody’ helmed by Venkat Prabhu.
