New Delhi | Jagran Entertainment Desk: The Hindi film industry in its effort to find out a hit formula keeps releasing average to bad movies every year and 2019 was no different. We saw some films that were totally out of trend and failed to connect with the audience. We also witnessed some expressions in which the actors were in a hurry to finish expression than the viewers. Some of these films include top casts such as Akshay Kumar, Sidharth Malhotra, and Varun Dhawan. Here is a collection of the dullest films that must have given a feeling of regret among filmmakers.
Housefull 4
The multi-starrer by Sajid Nadiadwala featuring Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol and Neil Nitin Mukesh seemed to lack clue about what they were doing in the movie. It was full of rubbish and filled with misogyny. The dialogues that hurt the most were 'Main abla hoon tabla nahin' and 'Ye Katappa toh ek hi cut me pappa ban gaye'. Instead of laughing at it, the audience were turned off.
Total Dhamaal
Another multi-starrer that failed to impress the audience. Based loosely on the 1963 Hollywood film 'It's Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World', the film was almost unbearable. Despite starring Javed Jaffrey, Arshad Warsi and Ajay Devgn, the film failed to keep the audience intact, with many leaving the box office before the end.
Jabariya Jodi
After getting delayed for multiple times, the film was finally released on August 9. Actually, it shouldn't have been released as the story based on groom kidnapping could only run in Bihar. Instead, they should made a short film on it that would have saved both time and budget.
Arjun Patiala
Directed by Rohit Jugraj, the action-comedy featuring Diljit Dosanjh, Kriti Sanon and Varun Dhawan was based purely for the viewers of Punjab. No doubt the film was a flop at the box office. The only good part of the film was trailer, but it turned out to be a nightmare in the theatres.
Marjaavaan
The makers tried to recreate the angry young man of the 80s-- Amitabh Bachchan but forgot that Sidharth Malhotra is no Big B. It seemed difficult to understand why somebody with a decent budget, would trade the same old path. Also, there was an Amitabh Bachchan lookalike, who mimicked Bob Christo. Those who survived should be given gallantry awards.
Student of the Year 2
What looked like 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander' on steroids, in the beginning, seemed completely at it through the course of the movie. It felt like a sequel to Style or Excuse Me, but even the former seemed appealing than this. The only good part was Shah Rukh Khan. Oh! he actually wasn't there. That's how horrible the second part of the movie turned out.
Kalank
This movie was so rubbish that even prints of my shirt changed by the time I got out of the hall. The romance between Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt was so cold that it could be compared to a 'Cold War'. On top of it, there was song 'Kalank nahi ishq hai yeh'.
Khandaani Shafakhana
The film depicts excellent scenes from the film. Perhaps the only good things that I found in the movie. Badshah looked completely dull on his acting debut. Our films should talk about sexual health and not mental health, isn't it?
The Accidental Prime Minister
The film is a biographical drama directed by Vijay Ratnakar Gutte featuring Anupam Kher, Akshaye Khanna and Aahana Kumara. In the film, the descent of a big political party, warns his mother of consequences. If she does not get her act right in two weeks. If she had gotten the work done, we would have had to watch the film.
Milan Talkies
Audience may not have thought that Tigmanshu Dhulia could go beyond Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3 but then he directed Milan Talkies.
