YG Entertainment has been grabbing the attention due to BLACPINK's contract renewal which is still in discussion. BLACKPINK recently celebrated their 7th debut anniversary and it was rumoured the group is not planning to remain together as Lisa will not renew her contract. As per the reports by local South Korean news outlets, BLACKPINK decided to extend their group activities with their agency but the individual exclusive contracts between Lisa, Rose, Jennie, Jisoo and YG Entertainment have not been finalized.
YG Entertainment reacted to these reports and issued a short statement regarding the contract renewal of BLACKPINK. The agency said, “There’s no confirmation yet, discussions are ongoing."
According to reports, BLACKPINK members are planning to engage in both group and individual projects and Lisa's contract renewal still remains uncertain as the rapper might go solo. The agency earlier issued an official statement regarding the contract renewal in their quarterly reports.
YG Entertainment stated, "As of the disclosure date, negotiations for a new exclusive contract with the artists are in progress. The final results will be announced through subsequent disclosures of key management matters related to investment decisions."
