Netflix's web series 'You' is one of the most popular shows on the streaming platform and has gained a huge fan following worldwide. The fourth season of You was also a huge success and was trending on Netflix around the world. Netflix has now announced that You will be back for its fifth and final season.

Announcing the news, Netflix wrote o social media, "Wolfing his way into your hearts, Joe Goldberg returns for a final goodbye and just like #YOU, we can’t wait for it too!"

“We are so incredibly grateful to Netflix and Sera and everyone that has been a part of this show from the beginning. Sera is the most brilliant writer and partner and she will remain a key part of the You family as an executive producer,” said creators of You Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schecter said in their official statement.

You stars Penn Badgley in the lead role and he plays the role of Joe Goldberg in the series. The show revolves around Joe Goldberg, a bookstore manager and serial killer who falls in love and develops an extreme obsession with his partner.

Apart from Penn Badgley, the show also stars Tati Gabrielle, Lukas Gage, Charlotte Ritchie, Tilly Keeper, Amy-Leigh Hickman and Ed Speleers.

The fourth season had new characters and was filmed in a new place. Talking about season 4, the showrunner Sera Gamble told Netflix, "All he wants is to prove he’s not a terrible man, by living quietly as Professor Jonathan Moore, nursing his broken heart and thoroughly minding his own business."

"This mysterious person is awfully curious about ‘Professor Moore,’ threatening Joe and everyone he cares about. Sometimes it takes a killer to catch a killer. Hey, Joe did say he wanted to redeem himself... but we'll leave it to you to decide if redemption is possible for a man like Joe Goldberg," she further added.

You Season 1 starred Penn Badgley, Elizabeth Lail, Luca Padovan, Zach Cherry, and Shay Mitchell. However, in seasons 2 and 3, Penn reprised his role of Joe and Victoria Pedretti was an addition to the star cast and was also in the lead role.

It will be interesting to see if there will be a new star cast for You Season 5.
